WhatsApp users around the world are reporting issues with the app

WhatsApp users across the world, including Russia, are experiencing a bug with the app, with complaints on the Downdetector outage tracking service exceeding 3,300 as of 18:20 Moscow time.

According to data from the global Downdetector service, which tracks the performance of popular websites, approximately 90% of users have encountered problems sending messages. Complaints are coming from the United States, Bangladesh, and Brazil.

According to service data, the app glitch began at 4:30 PM, and by 6:15 PM, the number of complaints had peaked, with users leaving more than 1,000. After that, the number of messages related to the issues began to decline.

In Russia, app users reported issues with notifications and messaging, with residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg topping the list of complaints.

According to Downdetector data, 3,323 users complained about issues with the app in general.

Most of the complaints, 55%, focused on glitches in the app's notifications.

While 26% complained of general performance issues, 16% complained of app crashes on their smartphones.
