Washington: The migrants we sent to prison in El Salvador will remain there for the rest of their lives

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that migrants sent by the United States to prison in El Salvador should remain there "for the rest of their lives."

"We believe those people should be there and should remain there for the rest of their lives," Noem told reporters on Wednesday.

She added that her assessments are based on intelligence information from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It is noteworthy that the United States deported more than 200 migrants, whom American authorities considered members of the Venezuelan criminal gang "Tren de Aragua."

El Salvador agreed to receive these migrants and place them in a maximum-security prison within the country.
