Canadian police announced that an unidentified man had barricaded himself inside the Canadian Parliament building in the Canadian capital, Ottawa. No casualties or fatalities were reported in the incident.
"Police are on the scene at Parliament Hill after a man barricaded himself in the East Wing of the building. The East Wing has been evacuated. There are no reports of injuries at this time, and police continue to work with the man," Ottawa police said in a statement on the X platform.
Police said the incident began before 15:00 local time (22:00 Moscow time, April 5).
Local media and social media users posted footage from the scene, where a police cordon could be seen.
