ULM creates membrane filtration device for wastewater treatment

Banjarbaru - The Materials and Membranes Research Group Team at Lambung Mangkurat University led by Prof. Muthia Elma created a membrane filtration tool for wastewater treatment called AFILM2ReG.

"This tool was designed and produced in the M2ReG workshop by utilizing hollow fiber membranes resulting from laboratory research," said Muthia in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Thursday.

AFILM2ReG is an output of a prototype grant funded by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service through a prototype output funding scheme.

This Professor of Chemical Engineering at ULM explained that hollow fiber membrane technology was developed to increase filtration efficiency in wastewater treatment.

This aims to support sustainable efforts in the use of water resources.

Muthia said the development of AFILM2ReG was part of academics' efforts to provide real solutions to environmental problems, especially in the field of wastewater treatment.

It is hoped that this technology can be implemented widely, both in industry and on a community scale to support better and more environmentally friendly water management.

"We are committed to continuing to produce research-based innovations to support the implementation of green technology in environmental management in Indonesia," he stressed.
