US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that his country possesses "the most powerful weapons in the world" that no one knows about.
"We have weapons that no one has a clue about," Trump told reporters at the White House. "They are the most powerful in the world, and even more advanced than anyone else has."
The US President did not clarify the nature of the weapon he was referring to, or any technical details about it.
Trump's remarks came in the context of his discussion of the possibility of using military force against the Islamic Republic of Iran if it does not abandon its nuclear program.
It's worth noting that the Trump administration has previously withdrawn from international arms control treaties, such as the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia, citing its need to develop its arsenal.
However, Trump's vague statements raise questions about their accuracy, and whether they are intended to enhance psychological deterrence against adversaries, or whether they reveal secret projects that have not yet been announced.
