The German army is preparing for the largest military maneuvers since the Cold War

Bild newspaper revealed that the German army will organize massive military exercises next September, with the participation of NATO forces, to simulate a hypothetical scenario of a "potential Russian attack" on Western Europe.

According to the newspaper, the maneuvers, dubbed "Red Storm Bravo," will begin on September 25 and last for three days, transforming Hamburg into a major military center. Up to 800,000 soldiers will participate in the exercises.

Bild explained that the main objective of the maneuvers is to test NATO's ability to quickly move forces to the Baltic states and Poland, with a focus on the strategic role of the Port of Hamburg in this process.

The exercises include plans for troop movements within the city, providing emergency medical aid, evacuating the wounded, and using helicopters over Hamburg's skies, in addition to implementing interactive training scenarios.

This comes after statements by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who called for preparations for a potential war with Russia by 2029.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a previous interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, denied any Russian intention to attack NATO countries, describing these allegations as a "trick" used by Western governments to distract attention from their own internal problems.

The Kremlin has repeatedly expressed concern about NATO's military expansion near Russia's borders, stressing that Moscow is not a threat to anyone but will act decisively to protect its security interests.
