Telkom Indonesia as a state-owned company engaged in telecommunications introduced NeutraDC Nxera Batam as one of its new digital infrastructures and strengthened its data center system.

"With the increasing need for efficient and sustainable digital infrastructure, this facility is designed to international standards as an AI-enabler. , including the use of renewable energy," said NeutraDC Nxera Batam President Director Indrama YM Purba in a statement received in Jakarta, Thursday (17/4).

NeutraDC Nxera Batam, built in Kabil Integrated Industrial Estate, Batam, has a total capacity of 54MW. The facility complements the large-capacity data center that was previously operating and owned by Telkom's subsidiary, PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC) in Cikarang, West Java.

NeutraDC Nxera was built in Batam because it is considered a strategic location on the main route of the international submarine cable network. With its status as a Free Trade Zone and Free Port, the area is able to offer various investment incentives for private companies in Indonesia to grow their businesses.

Ensuring its high standards especially in the implementation of environmentally friendly data centers, NeutraDC Nxera Batam collaborates with Medco Power to provide renewable energy supply for data center operations.

In terms of connectivity, a strategic partnership has been established with Telin and the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) to ensure low latency and efficient connectivity paths, as well as connecting Batam with major cities in Indonesia as well as Singapore and Australia.

The facility is expected to be an option for companies operating in Indonesia as a network for data storage to support the digitalization process of their businesses.
