Syrian security forces announce the seizure of a weapons and ammunition depot belonging to "outlaws" in Homs.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated in a statement on Telegram: "After monitoring and follow-up, the Homs Security Directorate (central) was able to seize a warehouse containing various weapons and ammunition in the northeastern Homs countryside."

The ministry noted that the seized warehouse "was being used by outlaw groups as a supply source for operations aimed at destabilizing the region." It explained that "the necessary seizures were prepared and the seized items were confiscated in accordance with established legal procedures."

Since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024, the Military Operations Directorate has opened settlement centers for former regime members to surrender their weapons. However, the refusal of some members has led to clashes in several governorates.

The new Syrian administration is also working to control the security situation and pursue remnants of the former regime who are causing security disturbances, particularly in the coastal region, a stronghold of senior Assad regime officers.
