Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and renowned British director Matthew Vaughn announced the launch of a joint film studio called UR•MARV, in a move that combines the passion for sports and the world of cinema.
Both are renowned names in their fields, so they decided to join forces to produce films inspired by sportsmanship and the power of storytelling through this independent studio.
Ronaldo revealed in a statement on his X account that he and Matthew Vaughn have decided to launch a joint film studio called UR•MARV, which aims to combine modern technology with innovative storytelling.
"Cristiano loves cinema, Matthew loves sports, and they both love telling good stories," Ronaldo said in his statement.
The Portuguese star added: "This is an exciting stage for me and I look forward to new horizons in the business world."
For his part, Vaughn praised the Portuguese legend's influence, saying: "Ronaldo has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to making inspiring films with him. He is a true superhero in the flesh."
According to the statement, through the new studio, the duo will finance and produce two action films. They are also currently preparing to begin filming the third film in the same series, and confirmed that the first release will be announced soon.
It's worth noting that Ronaldo has several ventures, including hotels, partnerships with major media entities, and sports equipment that aids athletes' recovery. He has also taken YouTube by storm, reaching over 74 million viewers in just a few months.
