A recent study shows that probiotics, which are usually consumed for digestive health, can help reduce negative emotions in just two weeks.
Quoted from Medical Daily on through the latest research published in npj Mental Health Research, researchers tried to investigate the effects of multispecies probiotic supplements on the daily mood of 88 healthy volunteers with an average age of 22 years. While previously it was known the positive effects of probiotic supplements on mental health.
During the trial, participants were given one sachet of the probiotic blend or a placebo daily for four weeks. The probiotic blend contained a diverse mix of nine types of bacteria, including Bifidobacterium bifidum, B. lactis, and various species of Lactobacillus and Lactococcus, which are known to support gut and emotional health.
Placebo sachets were carefully matched for color, taste, and odor to ensure participants could not tell the difference.
