A recent study published in npj Mental Health Research shows that probiotics, which are usually taken for digestive health, can help reduce negative emotions in just two weeks.
A new study examined the effects of a multi-species probiotic supplement on daily mood in dozens of volunteers with an average age of 22. In the study, 88 participants were given either a sachet of the probiotic blend or a placebo daily for four weeks.
Quoted from Medical Daily, Thursday, the probiotic mixture contains nine types of bacteria including Bifidobacterium bifidum, B.lactis and various species of Lactobacillus and Lactococcus which can support gut and emotional health.
