Son Heung-min confirmed to miss Spurs' clash with Frankfurt.

Son Heung-min is certain to be absent from strengthening Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, which will take place at Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt, Friday morning WIB.

"Sonny didn't travel to Germany, he was the only player who was absent," Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was quoted as saying on UEFA's official website on Thursday.

"At the moment, he has been struggling with a problem with his foot in the last few weeks. He trained in the last few days, yesterday he tried to train and felt a bit uncomfortable, so we took the decision to leave him out so he can recover," he continued.

The South Korean was also absent during the 2-4 defeat to Wolverhampton in the Premier League on Sunday (13/4).

The first leg of the Europa League quarter-final between Spurs and Frankfurt ended in a 1-1 draw, meaning the team that wins the second leg will advance to the last four.

Postecoglou heads into Friday's game under the spotlight, with Spurs struggling for results in the league, but he is unconcerned by the criticism.

"If you don't think I'm a good coach, that's not going to change no matter what happens tomorrow. We've got a great opportunity tomorrow and I'm not going to let it go without going all out," said the Australian.

On the other hand, Frankfurt coach Dino Topmoeller said that Spurs' 2-4 defeat to bottom team Wolverhampton, will not have much influence on tomorrow's match, because Spurs are very ambitious in the Europa League.
