Liverpool coach Arne Slot is furious with the media who continue to discuss Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract situation which expires this season, after the right-back became the winner in a 1-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power, Sunday.
Arnold, who had previously missed Liverpool's four games through injury, returned to the pitch as a substitute, replacing Conor Bradley in the 71st minute before scoring the winner five minutes later with his left foot.
"The headline today should be the goal he scored and not about his contract," Slot said after the match, as quoted from the club's official website on Monday.
"But what I can say is it would be ridiculous for anyone to argue about his commitment to this club because of the hard work he put in to come back today and score an important goal," he added.
"And all the work he has done for this club in the years he has been here, no one, in my opinion, can argue with his commitment to this club. But let the headlines be about his great goals and not his contract situation," he continued.
