Jakarta - Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim revealed that a lack of creativity in the final third was the cause of his team's defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, Wednesday WIB.
"We pushed the opponent into the final third. But in the end we lacked quality in the final third," Amorim was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Wednesday.
"If you look at some games, we couldn't create situations where they created chances. The opponents sometimes create more chances and today it wasn't like that," he added.
In the 0-1 defeat through Anthony Elanga's goal, MU entered the final third 59 times. However, due to a lack of creativity, they were unable to score from a total of 24 shots, six of which were on target.
This total of shots is the most in a Premier League game in which they have failed to score since September 2021.
"Then we tried sometimes with good chances but I think in the last cross, the last pass, the last assist it was not there," he explained.
