PT LIB plans to add age group competitions at Elite Pro Academy

Jakarta - President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru Ferry Paulus plans to add age group competitions at the Elite Pro Academy (EPA), starting from the 2026/2027 season.

"In the future, there will be coaching to form EPA in the junior strata of League 1. Now 16, 18, 20. In League 2 next season, EPA is required so that all clubs can still be linked-in, 20 teams, this must have EPA (age) 20 years. The following year, it is required to have EPA clubs 18 or 16," said Ferry at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday.

"The coming year will again create standardization because good competition will get superior players. Therefore the competition is no longer three. Later there will be from 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 (years). Because this is a big job for the Indonesian football league," he continued.

According to Ferry, additional age levels are very necessary to accommodate more football players so they can compete, as well as attract more people's interest in playing football.
