The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) is targeting potential young players to enter the national team through the international Bali 7s tournament.
"Certainly the good ones will definitely be pulled up, so we are not just monitoring," said PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir on the sidelines of the opening of the Bali 7s tournament at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar Regency, Bali, Friday.
According to him, the tournament involving young children has great potential to produce talented young players and future professionals.
The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises added that the talents of young football players will be further honed and they will have the skills and gain experience to join the national team.
The reason is, the tournament which has been held since 2024 involves seven age categories, namely eight years (U-8) then U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, pro and women.
