Myanmar: Death toll from double earthquake rises to 1,700

The death toll from the double earthquake that struck Myanmar has risen to 1,700 dead and 3,400 injured.

This came according to a statement issued by the military administration in Myanmar on Sunday regarding the double earthquake that struck the country on Friday morning.

The statement said that 1,700 people were confirmed dead, 3,400 injured, and 300 people are still missing.

On Saturday, the military administration announced in a statement that the death toll from the double earthquake that struck Myanmar had reached 1,644, with 3,408 injured.

In addition to the massive destruction caused by the earthquakes in the country, there is growing concern about the increasing number of victims.

In addition to Myanmar and Thailand, the double earthquake also caused damage in parts of China's Yunnan province, which borders Myanmar. No deaths have yet been reported in the province, where the tremors caused injuries.

On Friday, two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.4 on the Richter scale struck central Myanmar.
