The Ministry of Tourism said that the tourism sector could be the answer for many parties who have concerns about the impact of the implementation of the new tariff policy by the United States (US) Government.
"Regarding tariffs, of course, all countries in South Asia (feel concerned), we still believe that tourism is one of the answers to the tariff problem (set by the US)," said Deputy for Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism Martini M. Paham in the UN Tourism 37th CAP-CSA press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Martini explained that through the tourism sector, the government of a country can obtain information about current market needs and seek investors to increase the country's income.
He gave an example in Indonesia, the Ministry of Tourism assessed that the market trend is now shifting towards interest-based tourism such as gastronomy, marines and wellness.
