Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid invited women in Indonesia to take on the role of driving digital innovation to coincide with Kartini Day which falls every April 21.
The message was conveyed by Meutya in a meeting with the Women in Tech community in Jakarta, Monday, which is expected to encourage inspiring women to be more active in the digitalization sector such as AI, cybersecurity, and digital education.
"Kartini's spirit is the spirit to learn without stopping, work without limits, and give meaning to the nation. In the midst of massive digital transformation, women must appear at the forefront of innovation," said Meutya in her speech.
This event was deliberately held to bring together leaders and important female figures in Indonesia from various technology sectors, ranging from e-commerce, edutech , artificial intelligence, to cybersecurity.
Those present included CEO of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi, Founder of Bubu.com Shinta Dhanuwardoyo, Telecommunications Expert Koesmarihati, and Director of Cisco Indonesia Marina Kacaribu.
The lively discussion highlighted the importance of women's role in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable face of Indonesian technology.
