Technology company Meta has released the Edits video editing application, which has similar features to ByteDance's CapCut application.
According to a TechCrunch broadcast the Edits application allows users to record video ideas, get inspiration for new content, and create videos with effects and artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
All features on the app available on iOS and Android devices are free at launch.
However, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri said that Edits may eventually have paid features.
Meta first revealed that the company was developing Edits in January, after CapCut was removed from app stores in the United States following a ruling banning ByteDance's TikTok from operating in the country.
