Media: American teenager suspected of killing his parents to assassinate Trump

A teenager is suspected of killing his parents as part of a plan to assassinate US President Donald Trump, ABC News reported, citing court documents.

The network reported that "a Wisconsin teenager claims he killed his parents to obtain 'the money and independence needed to kill President Donald Trump and overthrow the US government.'"

According to reports, 17-year-old Nikita Kasap was arrested in March and charged with two counts of murder and concealment of bodies, among other charges.

Investigators believe the teenager may also have been involved in planning a plot against President Trump and using weapons of mass destruction. Material containing Nazi content was found on his phone, as well as documents allegedly urging the assassination of the US president.

Authorities indicate that the teenager may have had accomplices in the crime.

There have been two previous assassination attempts against Trump. The first occurred during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. He was shot in the ear, one attendee was killed, and two others were injured. The US Secret Service reported at the time that it killed the suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, after he fired several shots at the stage from the roof of an industrial building about 100 meters away.

The second attempt occurred on September 15 near a Trump-owned golf club in Florida. The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, is believed to have been obsessed with the conflict in Ukraine, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirming he had repeatedly tried to join their ranks.

Newsweek magazine revealed last Tuesday that Roth had attempted to purchase an RPG launcher or Stinger anti-aircraft missiles from Ukraine before his arrest, to be used against Air Force One.
