A Spanish press report revealed on Tuesday the punishment Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé will face after receiving a straight red card during his team's match against Deportivo Alaves.
Mbappé received a straight red card in the 38th minute of the match at the Mendizorroza Stadium in the 31st round of La Liga for his violent tackle on Alavés player Antonio Blanco.
Reports have circulated that Mbappé could be suspended for four matches, which would have led to him missing the upcoming El Clásico against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
However, Spanish newspaper Marca confirmed that the penalty will be limited to a one-match suspension for Mbappé, meaning he will miss his team's upcoming match against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.
Mbappé will now be fit to face Barcelona in the final scheduled for April 26. The two teams will also meet again in La Liga on May 11, in the 35th round of the league.
