Jakarta - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia said that the service of 400 free tickets for passengers using Pelni ship services on the Jakarta-Batam route during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr return flow momentum was maximally absorbed.
"The 400 free tickets provided by the Ministry of Transportation have been completely absorbed," said Head of Operations for Tanjung Priok Pelni DKI Jakarta Sigit when met in Jakarta, Thursday.
He explained that the free tickets were only intended for passengers using KM Kelud on April 4.
Free tickets, he said, are only used for one shipping route, namely Jakarta-Batam and not for the reverse route.
"So there are 400 prospective passengers who got it after fulfilling the set requirements," he also said.
Sigit said that the free ticket program was present to help ease the burden of costs for residents traveling by Pelni ship during the Eid homecoming period, because they could save up to hundreds of thousands of rupiah.
He explained that KM Kelud is scheduled to arrive at Tanjung Priok Port on April 4 at 03.00 WIB and depart on the Batam-Tanjung Balai Karimun-Belawan route at 15.00.
The ship serves return flow passengers specifically in the western part of Indonesia.
