Israeli army: Ground forces continue operations in Gaza, air force strikes 45 targets in 24 hours

The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that its forces are continuing their ground operation in the Gaza Strip, noting that the air force has struck more than 45 targets across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a statement, "IDF forces continue the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, as forces of the Gaza Division (143) in the Rafah area are deepening the operation in the Tel Sultan area, and have found tunnel openings and destroyed infrastructure in the area."

He added, "Forces from the 36th Division continue to operate in Rafah and along the Morag axis, in an area where the army had not previously operated. The forces destroyed buildings used for terrorist activities, as well as underground infrastructure, and eliminated terrorists," according to the statement.

In the northern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said, "The 252nd Division continues to operate in the Shuja'iyya area, and has eliminated terrorists and, in cooperation with the air force, destroyed a stockpile of combat equipment."

Adraee continued in his statement, saying, "The air force attacked more than 45 targets across the Gaza Strip, targeting a weapons production site, a rocket launching site, military buildings, weapons depots, and terrorist cells."

Our correspondent in Gaza reported on Wednesday that a Palestinian woman was killed and others were injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent housing displaced persons west of Khan Yunis.

He also reported that Israeli forces launched intensive artillery shelling, coinciding with gunfire from Israeli army vehicles east of Khan Yunis.

Rafah witnessed gunfire from Israeli army vehicles in the vicinity of the Al-Firdaws area, west of the city.

Today, the Palestinian Ministry of Health's Emergency and Ambulance Unit recovered a number of dead bodies and evacuated more than 12 injured people following an attack on a group of civilians near the Abu Matar Mosque, northwest of Rafah. The injured were transported to the Red Cross Hospital in West Rafah and the Nasser Medical Complex.

Meanwhile, 17 patients and children are expected to be evacuated today from the European Gaza Hospital via Kerem Shalom for treatment in the United Arab Emirates.

In the central Gaza Strip, the Israeli army dropped smoke bombs east of the Maghazi refugee camp. Hamza Wael Asfa, a young man from Deir al-Balah, reportedly died of wounds he sustained a week ago in an airstrike that targeted his tent in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.

In the northern Gaza Strip, our correspondent said that warplanes intensively targeted the middle of Mansoura Street in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City.

The correspondent also reported heavy fire from Israeli army vehicles targeting the eastern areas of Gaza City.

Our correspondent reported that 11 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting tents for the displaced and different areas since yesterday evening, including children. Among them were identified:

8. Sabry Suleiman Al-Abd Al-Sadoudi - northwest of Al-Qarara.
9. Samir Mansour Ahmed Mansour.
10. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Astal.
11. Asmaa Farouk Mansour.
