Indonesia is participating in the World Summit on the Information Society Prizes 2025, organized by the United Nations together with the International Telecommunication Union .
Indonesia submitted 12 digital solution initiatives in the contest, including a digital economic inclusion program for retired migrant workers from ICT Watch, the Ministry of Communication and Digital's digital literacy program, the AI Policy and Skilling Web Center for UGM's digital society, Kepu's Smart Electronic Village, and empowering rural communities through increasing digital literacy.
"These initiatives are real evidence that digital talent combined with collaboration between multi- stakeholders is a major strength or advantage in advancing Indonesia's digital ecosystem," said Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria at a press conference announcing the 2025 WSIS Prizes nominations.
Nezar said that Indonesia has participated in the WSIS Prizes since 2017 and has won the main award six times, including awards for the Healthy Internet, Good Indonesia, and National Digital Literacy Movement initiatives.
According to him, Indonesia's participation in the WSIS Prizes event reflects the spirit of building a culture of information technology utilization.
