Google urges Android phone users to update their phone systems immediately!

Google announced the discovery of two critical software vulnerabilities in Android systems and urged Android users to update their operating systems.

Google revealed on its official platforms that cybersecurity experts had discovered two critical security vulnerabilities in the Android system, which were already being exploited by hackers to compromise smart devices.

According to Google, the first vulnerability, coded "CVE-2024-53197," was being exploited by hackers to conduct zero-day cyberattacks. It was discovered by an Amnesty International expert and used to hack Android phones.

The second vulnerability Google warned about, coded "CVE-2024-53150," was discovered in the Android kernel, according to experts. Google advises Android device owners to update their operating system immediately.

TechRadar noted that neither Google nor cybersecurity firm Amnesty International provided details about the vulnerabilities. However, shortly after the vulnerabilities were discovered, Android developers indicated that the two flaws could allow remote hacking of phones. Google concluded that "due to the open-source nature of Android, each phone manufacturer must release updates for their phone operating systems themselves."

It's worth noting that Apple also released an update to its iOS systems last month after discovering a serious software vulnerability that could allow iPhones to be hacked. It also announced fixes for several software vulnerabilities in its laptop operating systems.
