Alpine driver Pierre Gasly beat McLaren driver Lando Norris and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc in free practice 1 of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at the Corniche Circuit in Jeddah, Jeddah, Friday night WIB.
The competition between Sainz and Leclerc continued until the end of the session, which benefited Gasly who surprisingly overtook Leclerc's time with 1 minute 29.239 seconds.
The record was 0.07 seconds faster than Norris and Leclerc's times.
Meanwhile, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri was in fourth position with a record of +0.102 seconds, followed by Williams driver Alexander Albon with +0.367 seconds.
