Following its actions against its pro-Palestine students, the Trump administration commends Yale University's actions.

This came in a statement issued Friday by the Task Force on Combating Antisemitism, a joint body of the Departments of Justice, Health and Human Services, Education, and the General Services Administration (GSA), formed by executive order from Trump.

The statement praised Yale University's decisions against a group of students protesting the visit of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to campus.

He noted the team's support for the university's actions, which included intervening to break up the demonstration, revoking official recognition of the protest organizer, and opening disciplinary investigations against the participating students.

The statement affirmed that the relevant authorities will continue to monitor developments, calling on all American universities to "fulfill their obligations under anti-discrimination laws and take disciplinary action against students when appropriate."

Yale University has revoked its official recognition of the Yalies4Palestine group following student protests against Ben-Gvir upon his arrival on campus on Wednesday.

Videos showed dozens of students opposing Israel's war of genocide on Gaza chanting "Shame on you" against Ben-Gvir.

Although Yalies4Palestine denied organizing the protest, the university claimed that the group had called for participation in the event via social media and had issued a public statement supporting the action.

The university administration also announced in a statement that it had opened an investigation into allegations of "anti-Semitic behavior" during the protest.

Ben-Gvir arrived in the United States on Monday, his first visit as minister since assuming his duties at the end of 2022.

Last year, 48 activists, including 44 Yale students, were arrested on the Yale University campus during pro-Palestine demonstrations.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations, which began on several US campuses in April of last year, continued for about six weeks. During this period, protests against Israel and the US administration were held on nearly all major campuses across the country, against the backdrop of the war in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has been strongly attacking American student protests against the war of extermination in Gaza.

The previous US administration, led by Joe Biden, also opposed the protests, but current President Donald Trump announced sanctions against students who participate in the protests.

The US administration is using financial cuts and investigations into universities to pressure university administrations to prevent demonstrations in support of Palestine.
