Pediatrician dr. Amanda Soebadi, Sp.A, Subsp.Neuro.(K), M.Med revealed that children aged 1-3 years who often use gadgets excessively can cause behavioral patterns similar to autism, however, not autism, which is called virtual autism.
"This is a real term that exists in the literature, the behavioral pattern is similar to autism," said the pediatrician who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia in a webinar monitored online in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Virtual autism causes children to experience social communication difficulties, repetitive behaviors and unusual behaviors. Although the intensity of virtual autism symptoms can meet the criteria for a diagnosis of autism, however, it is different from autism.
