Doctors say lumps are not necessarily a sign of breast cancer.

Internal Medicine Specialist and Hematology-Medical Oncology Consultant Dr. Andhika Rahman, Sp.PD-KHOM said that lumps in the breast are not necessarily a sign of malignancy of breast cancer.

"So not all lumps mean malignancy (cancer) and not all malignancies must end early with surgery first. What is clear is that education needs to be given that the lump needs to be biopsied first, from the biopsy we can know whether it is breast cancer or not," said the doctor who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia in an intercept interview in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Through proper examination, according to him, the type of cancer suffered will be known so that hormonal or radiation treatment can be determined after surgery if necessary.
