Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria asked the Indonesian people to be vigilant in dealing with fraud that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI)technology such as deepfake ."We can now see that the videos produced by AI are almost perfect, many people are even fooled, not only lay people, even experts are sometimes fooled by the videos or photos produced because they are very similar to the original," said Nezar in his official statement received.
Although AI technology is currently filling the digital space to explore creativity, there are also quite a few criminals who misuse this technology to deceive their victims.
Nezar then gave an example of a new form of fraud using AI in the form of falsifying bank transfer receipts to trick customers into believing that they have received money transfers into their accounts.
