Serang - The Merak electric rail train service has returned to normal towards the end at Merak Station on Eid al-Fitr 2025, after previously being stopped only as far as Cilegon Station.
"For the Merak Commuter Line travel service, starting March 31, 2025, it will return to normal until Merak Station, which previously only reached Cilegon Station," said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus in his statement in Serang City, Tuesday.
Joni said that the number of users of Merak Station on Eid al-Fitr yesterday was 2,161 people.
"Especially for Merak Commuter Line users, during the Lebaran Transportation period, the recorded user volume was 119,001 people with Rangkasbitung Station as the busiest station, reaching 54,614 people departing and 45,035 people getting off at the station," he said.
Coinciding with the second day of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah, Commuter Line users were observed to be quite busy, dominated by seasonal users who brought along their families who wanted to visit and socialize.
It was observed that during this holiday, users were dominated by seasonal passengers who were going to visit relatives or to tourist attractions and shopping centers, he said.
