Cibodas Botanical Gardens management records 30 percent decline in visits

The management of the Cibodas Botanical Gardens in Cipanas District, Cianjur, West Java, recorded a decrease in the number of visitors of around 30 percent during the Eid holiday due to various factors, one of which was the several times the ticket payments were complained about as burdensome for visitors.

GM Corporate Communication of Kebun Raya Zaenal Arifin in Cianjur, Sunday, said the number of tourist visits during the Eid holiday was an average of only 6,000 people per day, while the previous year during Eid the number of visits reached 10 thousand people per day.

"The decrease in the number of visits is due to the large number of tickets that must be paid when entering the Cibodas tourist area. This has been widely complained about by visitors to the Cibodas Botanical Gardens management, which only applies a one-time payment," he said.

So his party will try to communicate again with the relevant agencies in the Cianjur Regency Government, regarding complaints from visitors who object to the collection of many tickets at the Cibodas tourist attraction which remains a favorite tourist destination in North Cianjur.

As there are many tickets that must be paid to get to the Cibodas Botanical Gardens, during this year's Eid holiday, around 30 percent of visitors on motorbikes chose to enter the tourist area with a collection of millions of rare plants through gate 3 or the back.

"Visitors choose gate 3 or the back door to enter the Cibodas Botanical Gardens because they only pay for the ticket once, but we do not recommend it for visitors with four wheels because the road is small," he said.
