Chico Aura again fails to show best performance at BAC 2025

Jakarta - Chico Aura Dwi Wardonyo again failed to show good performance after having to pack his bags in the first round of the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships (BAC).

The 26-year-old badminton player lost two straight games 12-21, 20-22 to Singaporean representative Loh Kean Yeaw at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, China, Wednesday.

The loss was Chico's sixth in seven meetings with Yeaw, and also extended Chico's poor results throughout the 2025 season.

Of the four BWF 2025 tours, Chico's best achievement was reaching the second round at the Super 300 Thailand Masters 2025.

Furthermore, he was always eliminated in the first round, namely in the Super 500 Indonesia Masters 2025 and Super 1000 All England 2025.

So far in the men's singles sector, only Jonatan Christie has successfully advanced to the second round of BAC 2025. He defeated Japanese representative Koki Watanabe with a score of 16-21, 21-12, 21-18.

Next, he will face Malaysian representative Justin Hoh who advanced to the second round after defeating Jeon Hyeok-Jin from South Korea with a score of 14-21, 22-20, 21-16.

Meanwhile, another representative, Alwi Farhan, will start the match at BAC 2025 against the host representative Weng Hongyang.
