BPJN Sultra proposes building 745 meter flood barrier in North Konawe.

The Southeast Sulawesi National Road Implementation Center has proposed to the center to build a retaining wall structure to prevent flooding 745 meters in North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi."The retaining wall work process will only start in 2026-2027," said Head of BPJN Sultra, Yudi Hardiana in Kendari, Monday.

Meanwhile, for temporary handling of the broken road, a Bailey bridge (emergency bridge made of light steel) is currently being built, combined with road filling.

Slab on pile is a building structure consisting of concrete plates that support piles.

According to Yudi, the construction of the Bailey Bridge will begin immediately after the flood recedes, while waiting for the mobilization of several bridge constructions that are currently in the delivery process.

He said that the current obstacle in the field is the old construction bridge which is still buried due to flooding, and it is hoped that it will be resolved properly in the short time.

"BPJN's task is to facilitate the rapid connection of damaged roads, while the support of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government is very helpful in various urgent matters," he said.

The construction of the project is divided into three segments, namely Segment I in the form of a 318.8 meter long approach road (from the direction of Kendari City), Segment II in the form of a 304.2 meter long slab on pile, and Segment III in the form of a 122 meter long approach road (from the direction of the Central Sulawesi border).
