Gastroscopy is a medical procedure that can be used to diagnose various disorders of the digestive tract, including gastroesophageal reflux disease. (GERD), infections and stomach cancer.
Siloam Hospitals Group internal medicine specialist Dr. Ignatius Bima Prasetya, Sp.PD, explained that gastroscopy allows doctors to directly see the condition of the patient's digestive tract through a flexible tube equipped with a camera.
"With gastroscopy, we can directly see the condition of the patient's digestive tract and determine the diagnosis more accurately," said Dr. Bima in a press release on Monday.
With gastroscopy, doctors can assess the condition of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines in real time. This procedure is used to diagnose various digestive disorders, such as inflammation, stomach ulcers, infections, and stomach cancer.
