Bank Sampoerna distributes Rp12.1 trillion in credit throughout 2024

Jakarta - PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna distributed loans worth IDR 12.1 trillion throughout 2024, an increase of 6.2 percent compared to the amount distributed the previous year.

Of the total loans, 61.2 percent or Rp7.4 trillion were directly or indirectly given to MSMEs. While the remaining 38.8 percent or around Rp4.7 trillion in credit was distributed to non-MSME customers.

Director of Finance & Business Planning at Bank Sampoerna, Henky Suryaputra, in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that the banking industry's credit growth figures for 2024 showed that MSME credit growth was relatively very limited compared to non-MSME credit growth, which grew almost four times higher.

He said that more than 90 percent of banking credit growth in 2024 will come from credit distribution to non-MSMEs. However, Bank Sampoerna remains committed to MSMEs.

“We thank our partners, including fintech companies , multifinance companies, , and cooperatives for their commitment, synergy and collaboration in empowering MSMEs as pillars of the Indonesian economy through the use of digital ecosystems," said Henky.

The company noted that the well-running intermediation function was also accompanied by an increase in the collection of third-party funds (DPK), with the accumulation of DPK at the end of 2024 reaching IDR13.3 trillion. This figure increased by 4.1 percent compared to the previous year as of December 2023 which was IDR12.8 trillion.

Henky said that balanced credit and DPK growth supports healthy liquidity management, where the loan to deposit ratio ( loan to deposit ratio) ratio (LDR) as of the end of December 2024 was at 90.8 percent. The company views this condition as quite ideal in balancing liquidity and efficiency.
