Bandung City Government Reorganizes Cihampelas Terrace to Boost Visits

Bandung City - The Bandung City Government, West Java, has begun rearranging the Teras Cihampelas area to revive the tourist attractions in the area.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that the initial steps taken were to ensure that the infrastructure was running well and to create a sense of security for visitors 24 hours a day.

"The important thing is to maintain security for 24 hours and ensure the infrastructure is running and functioning properly. There is an idea to replace the elevator with an escalator, I think that's a good idea, because the elevator is not working now," said Farhan in Bandung, Wednesday.

He added that public facilities such as lights and toilets must always be in good condition so that visitors feel comfortable. In addition, the appeal of tourist areas also depends heavily on the cleanliness and comfort of the environment.

Farhan is optimistic that the creativity of Bandung residents will grow if tourist attractions are well managed. "Regarding content, the people of Bandung are very creative. We believe that if the place is good, creativity will emerge by itself," he said.

Regarding the presence of street vendors (PKL), the City Government will continue to provide space but with strict regulations. Farhan said that street vendors in the area are managed through cooperatives.

"Please each manage themselves, because there is already a cooperative management. As long as it does not violate the rules, does not disturb peace and order, then we will support it," he said.
