Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said that striker Kai Havertz could return to strengthen the team before the end of the season, to increase their chances of winning the Champions League.
"Hopefully we can have him back, but let's wait. Once you are in the final stages of rehab, that's when you can understand better how close or far you are to the next step," Arteta was quoted as saying on Arsenal's official website on Friday.
Havertz is expected to be out for the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during Arsenal's training camp in Dubai in February.
The Germany international required surgery but suggested he was making good progress in his rehabilitation with a video posted on social media this week, fuelling hopes that Havertz could return if Arsenal make it to the Champions League final.
