Liverpool coach Arne Slot said Mohamed Salah's contract extension provides a positive aura for his team which is currently trying to win the English Premier League title.
Salah, whose contract expires at the end of the season and who has been linked with a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, officially extended his deal by two more years until 2027 on Friday.
"I think it's important because I'm 100 percent sure that our fans are happy to see him extend his contract. So, it gives a positive aura to the club, maybe a positive aura that we don't need, but it's always good to have a positive aura than a negative aura," Slot said at his press conference on Friday, as quoted from the club's official website.
Salah is currently enjoying his best season since joining from Roma in 2017, having scored 32 goals and 22 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
