Al-Houthi announces that the coastal province of Al-Hudaydah has been subjected to a series of US airstrikes. The group's Al Masirah channel reported that "the US aggression launched a series of raids on Kamaran Island in Al Hudaydah Governorate, and one raid on the Al Salif District in the governorate." The channel later reported that six US airstrikes targeted Bajil District in the same governorate. Kamaran is one of the largest Yemeni islands in the Red Sea, and is administratively part of the coastal Al Hudaydah Governorate. Al Salif District is one of the most important districts in Al Hudaydah, and includes the Al Salif seaport. Bajil District is located in the central part of Al Hudaydah, 55 km northeast of the city. It extends from the borders of Al Maraw'ah District to Sana'a and Al Mahwit Governorates. It is one of the largest districts and is considered the main gateway to Al Hudaydah Governorate. Since March 15, the United States has launched nearly 1,000 airstrikes on Yemen, killing 217 civilians and wounding 436 others, most of them children and women, according to Houthi data that does not include casualties from their forces. These raids began after US President Donald Trump ordered his country's military to launch a "major offensive" against the Houthi group, before threatening to "completely eliminate" them. But the group ignored Trump's threat and resumed bombing sites inside Israel and ships in the Red Sea heading to the country, in response to Tel Aviv's resumption of its war of extermination against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since March 18.
