A distress call from a migrant boat in "very critical" condition that drifted toward the Tunisian coast

The Libyan Rescue Service announced on Sunday that it had received a distress call from a boat carrying 67 people, which had drifted in the Mediterranean Sea toward the Tunisian coast.

In an official statement, the Chamber clarified that it is closely monitoring the situation of the vessel in coordination with the Italian and Tunisian Coast Guards, noting that the vessel has already entered Tunisian territorial waters and that its condition is "very critical."

The rescue room confirmed that its teams are in constant contact with the relevant authorities and are monitoring developments on a daily basis in an effort to avert a potential humanitarian disaster, especially given the adverse sea conditions that could further complicate the situation.
