The Florida Athletic Commission reported that 17 Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters received medical suspensions after fighting at UFC 314 in Miami, United States.
"Some fighters are on indefinite suspensions, which usually means the athletes must get clearance from a doctor before competing again," the MMA Fighting website reported, citing a list of medical scores from the Florida Athletic Commission monitored in Jakarta, Friday.
Topping the list of 17 fighters is UFC 314 main event fighter Diego Lopes, who was suspended indefinitely following his five-round bout with Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight title, which Volkanovski won.
Due to Florida's medical disclosure laws, details surrounding Lopes' suspension were not made public, but typically an indefinite suspension means there is enough information about a possible injury that the commission would require a doctor to clear the fighter to compete again.
