Jakarta - "Have I Been Pwned" operator Troy Hunt has recently expanded the HIBP database by adding around 518,643 email addresses of smart device owners who are suspected of being affected by Spyzie, a "stalkerwalker" application that seeks to spy on thousands of Android and iPhone users.
According to cybersecurity researchers as reported by TechCrunch on Saturday, they have identified a vulnerability ("bug") in Spyzie that allows unauthorized access to users' personal data, including messages, photos and location data.
Spyzie operators have not responded to TechCrunch's request for comment. At the time of writing, the "bug" had not been fixed.
Based on a copy of the data that cybersecurity researchers have shared with TechCrunch, the majority of affected Spyzie victims were using Android devices.
