Jakarta - Neurology specialist Ranette Roza from the Prof. Dr. dr. Mahar Mardjono National Brain Center Hospital in East Jakarta said that helping people with seizures does not pose a risk of transmitting disease, so there is no need to worry.
"Seizures, whether due to trauma, heart, or epilepsy, epilepsy, and others, are not contagious at all, they are not a disease that can be transmitted through saliva, droplets , or blood," he said at an online educational seminar on handling seizures on Wednesday.
"So, if you can, just help. It would be a shame if the patient is not helped," he said.
Ranette said that first aid is very important to prevent injury and complications in people having seizures, especially those who are drooling.
Proper first aid, he continued, can help patients get through the seizure period safely.
