Jakarta - Economist and Public Policy Expert at UPN Veteran Jakarta Achmad Nur Hidayat said that the State Budget as of February 28, 2025, which experienced a deficit of IDR 31.2 trillion or 0.13 percent of gross domestic product , indicated the need for steps for fiscal reform.
In addition to the deficit, the challenges of fiscal performance at the beginning of this year were also followed by declining state revenues and tax revenues. The February 2025 edition of APBN KiTa data recorded state revenues of Rp316.9 trillion or 10.5 percent of this year's APBN target.
"When compared to the same period in 2024, this figure has dropped drastically by 20.85 percent, from the previous Rp400.4 trillion. This decline is a strong signal that Indonesia's fiscal foundation is facing severe pressure, even before entering the second quarter of the fiscal year," Achmad told ANTARA in Jakarta, Thursday.
