Jakarta - Indonesian men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Muhammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani showed consistency by advancing to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 1000 All England 2025.
They won again in two straight games 21-11, 21-17 over the Taiwanese pair Liu Kuang Heng/Yang Po Han at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, England, Friday.
"Today I focused on giving my best game without thinking about the result. Getting into the semifinals is something I never imagined before, I am very happy and feel lucky," said Reza in a written statement after the match.
Sabar also added that this victory was the result of their thorough preparation in anticipating the opponent's game.
"We have prepared a good game pattern to face today's opponent. We managed to control the tempo of their game well," said Sabar.
Despite their solid performance, Sabar/Reza do not want to set excessive expectations. "This tournament is a Super 1000 level, there are no easy opponents. We just want to enjoy every match and give our best," said Sabar.
