Jakarta - Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani is confident that Vietnamese automotive company VinFast is serious about investing in building a factory in Indonesia.
Rosan, when met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (10/3), said that Indonesia is one of two countries targeted by VinFast for car manufacturing whose production is for the export market.
"VinFast has indeed met with us also for the plan to build its factory in Indonesia, and they do want to. So, Indonesia is one of the two countries they manifest outside of Vietnam for this manufacturing, and they are very serious," Rosan said in response to reporters' questions.
Therefore, Rosan continued, the Ministry of Investment also assisted VinFast in realizing its investment plan.
"We are with them to provide alternatives and locations so that they can realize the investment they have conveyed and they are indeed very, very serious," said Rosan.
The Minister of Investment, who also serves as CEO of Danantara, is confident that VinFast's investment will soon be realized.
Despite his seriousness, Rosan is currently unable to talk much about the details of his investment, including the locations that Indonesia is offering to VinFast.
"I will explain the details later. But the point is that they are very, very serious about investing in Indonesia," said the Investment Minister.
Rosan, along with a number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, on Monday night accompanied President Prabowo Subianto to host state guests from Vietnam, namely Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party To Lam and the Vietnamese delegation, for dinner at the Merdeka Palace.
