Researchers detect Alzheimer's through home smell test

Jakarta - Detecting Alzheimer's early is key to slowing its progression, but is often only done when sufferers begin to lose their memory.

As quoted from Medical Daily, Thursday (27/3), researchers at Mass General Brigham have taken a big step towards early detection using the sense of smell.

Alzheimer's currently affects nearly 7 million Americans, and that number is expected to double to 13.9 million by 2060. An even more shocking statistic is that approximately 90 percent of individuals with mild cognitive decline never receive a formal diagnosis.
