Rekind and ITB subsidiary prepares “carbon capture” technology


Jakarta - A subsidiary of PT Rekayasa Industri with the Bandung Institute of Technology , PT Pupuk Indonesia Manfaat is preparing to develop technology for capturing and converting carbon dioxide into formic acid and hydrogen as an effort to support the energy transition.

Technologies such as Carbon Capture and Utilization are key elements in supporting the energy transition in line with Indonesia's target for net zero emissions (NZE) by 2060.

"This collaboration is very strategic, especially as an effort to support through our role in developing sustainable technology that is able to capture CO2 from industrial processes, especially in the fertilizer and petrochemical sectors, and convert it into value-added products," said Rekind CEO Triyani Utaminingsih, quoted from an official statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
